On empowering the people: “Most Americans today are frustrated and confused. They are told by everyone that they are ‘the richest people in the world’ and ‘the world’s freest nation.’ Yet, they see poverty in the midst of plenty and continued erosion of their civil liberties. . . . People are tired of liberal ‘promises’ and conservative ‘game plans’ which offer the rhetoric of hope but, in reality, merely protect and perpetuate the status quo. . . . Now the people want to be empowered.”
On the American empire: “War mongers have drugged America with fear for the last 50 years. The culture has been militarized and apathetic to the dangers domestically and internationally of American imperialism. We must persist in our call for a return to reason until the people see clearly what we have become as a nation, and say, ‘Enough is enough!’”
On the environment: “Global warming, fresh water scarcity, and loss of biodiversity. . . . Without addressing each of these interlinked pillars with a program that balances the causal relationships of their inextricable interdependence, we will continue to offer Band-Aid solutions to protecting our global village.”
On healthcare: “Our country faces three terrible and worsening healthcare crises. First, 47 million Americans, including 8 million children, have no health insurance coverage. Second, Medicare and Medicaid costs threaten to bankrupt the country. The third healthcare crisis involves enormous healthcare obligations facing employers, many of whom are drowning in healthcare bills. The Healthcare Security System, the plan I propose, provides a single solution for all three of our crises and provides quality healthcare for all Americans.”

I also paid extra for priority mail. I received my copies today, but sady, neither one was signed...I really wanted an autographed copy! Returning Power to the People

Poei haven't read Mike's book yet. i hope he addresses the possibility of a state corporate charter amendment to state constitutions that would put the corporations under the public's control. Works something like the Jury System and should be under the Judicial. A panel (or a few panels) within a Judicial district is chosen from a random pool. They sit in judgement for all corporations operating in their district. If they determine that a given corporation is harmful in anyway to the community, charter renewal denied. The admendment should require corporations to renew their charter every 3 or so years. i'll get Mike's book. Looks like Obama Jr. is pulling ahead. Looks like i'll be voting green again. Definitly green if Hillary wins.

Unfortunately people are stuck making history by simply voting for a black man to win or a woman president when it is painfully obvious neither of the 2 would help the average american. I am a 26 year old black american and under leadership of Clinton or Obama, I would be considered poor and basically there would be no help for me and my child. I cannot afford for either of them to win. I think that they care more about slandering each other and lying than they do about real topics real human being the reason they want to be voted into office, not because they have "evidence" of someone doing something they weren't supposed to be doing!! Enough is enough!
