'The Jungle Pill' - an abstraction

Where goodness is measured in heartbeats - and loss by the mile

it should come as little surprise, how many would choose denial

in vain fight a worldly curse, & in so doing be none but the worse

for when with our last breath we take

then and only then see the mistake

how the profit of much caused us to forsake

the keys that open the next universe's gate

those keys that we might have made

when the universe was 'small'

can never be simply wrought

with mercantile gall

and so the jungle pill

goes through the cherry wall

puzzling as it waves, the puzzle we are all

undying it conquers nothing, for nothing gives us all

undying conquered nothing, and therefore conquered all
