It's too bad Mike joined the Libertarians

Let's face it, Mike is a true independent. I understand that running with the support of an already established political party behind you can greatly help your campaign, but it also brand you with certain stereotypes.

The reason I love Mike so much is that I think his ideas go above and beyond the message of any political party. He is truly a candidate for the people. His ideas are so revolutionary as far as modern politics are concerned that he is in a league of his own. He has been the only one brave enough to propose the extreme changes necessary to bring our country back to the values that we once upheld. Mike would truly be the best president since FDR, and given our current state, he could turn out to be the most influential president ever.

My point is that I wish our political system wasn't so screwy so that Mike Gravel could just run as Mike Gravel and didn't have to ride the coat-tails of any political party.

My Personal Opinion

I guess my personal opinion is I could care less what political party he aligns himself with as long as his views still remain the same.  I'll vote for Gravel as long as he runs with GRAVEL's policies and beliefs.

If

If he's attempting to ride a party's coat tails, he probably should have gone to the Green party.  They're more recognizable as a third party than the LP, in my opinion.

Mike has said since the beginning of his run that he leans libertarian on many issues.  His chief platform, the National Initiative, is textbook libertarian.  I'm glad he switched.

Yes!

Mat313, I thought the Green Party was a better choice myself.

Could he have tried teaming

Could he have tried teaming up with Bloomberg or Nader?

Perhaps he could have supported Kucinich earlier on since he was the only other true anti-Iraq occupation candidate.

Ha!  And maybe he could

Ha!  And maybe he could have tried supporting Ron Paul also...
